The reviewer hit a crash, freeze or broken flow on the listed device and OS. Reproduce on the release build with that configuration.

Typical wording

Guideline 2.1 - Performance - App Completeness. We discovered one or more bugs in your app when reviewed on iPhone running iOS. Specifically, the app crashed on launch.

Common causes

  • Release-only crash (optimisation, entitlements, configuration)
  • Backend or third-party service unreachable during review
  • Missing usage description causing a crash on permission access

What to check

  • The device model and OS in the message
  • Symbolicated crash log
  • Backend reachability from outside your network
  • Fresh-install behaviour

Fix, reply or appeal guidance

  • Fix the defect and upload a new build
  • Describe the fix in the review notes
  • Run a cold test on a clean device
